A selection of Stephanie Johnson's poems from the last 20 years. Her only other volume of poetry, The Bleeding Ballerina was published in 1987. The poems range from love poems, to poems about children and some political poems. Some of them are humorous, others are more serious. In a sense, they chronicle a woman's life from her late twenties to her early forties.

Review of Moody Bitch

It is fascinating to see her development as a poet over these two decades, and as the poet grows up she still speaks with the same, surprisingly uncertain voice. But it’s the uncertainty and self-confessed vulnerability that is attractive and makes these poems so dangerously intimate. Disparaging, disdainful, pensive one moment, wild the next, she draws you in on one page, only to chill you out on the next.
(Penelope Bieder, Canvas, New Zealand Herald, August 30-31 2003)
